Mark Shoaf graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Interpersonal Communication and received a Masters of Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and worked in higher education (IUP, Butler County Community College, and Penn State University) for 21 years.

Mark completed a second Master's of Arts degree from Waynesburg University in Counseling Psychology and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (http://www.nbcc.org/verify) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mark is also a board Certified Christian Counselor.

Mark's training and experience qualify him to effectively provide counseling and therapy for individuals, couples and groups.

Mark's professional focus includes working with individuals, couples, and families affected by depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and personality disorders, stress, relationship conflicts, drug, and other psychological challenges. Mark's approach has been particular effective in men's mental health issues including depression, mood and intimacy disorders, and life adjustment/transition issues.

His goal is to bring help, hope, and direction to clients through the therapeutic process by the use an integrative approach - which means that I combine the best practice from a range of therapeutic approaches, primarily: Cognitive, Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt, and Rational Emotive Therapies.
